Welcome to the first episode of RDG Tabletalk! You might know us from Instagram as Royal Dachshund Games, but now we’re taking our love of board gaming beyond the grid and into your earbuds. In this debut episode, we chat about how we got into the hobby, the board game that started our obsession, and why this space means so much to us.

Emily is your laid-back, live-in-the-moment gamer who somehow pulls off surprise wins even when she claims she’s “just here for the art.” If a game has shiny bits, sparkly pieces, or gorgeous components, she’s already grabbing a seat at the table. She keeps the vibes high, the laughs easy, and most importantly, the snacks flowing.
Emerson is a retired athlete with a competitive heart and the strategic mind of someone who definitely thinks three turns ahead. Board games give him a seat where he feels safe, confident, and connected. He’s always happy to walk someone through their next turn if they’re stumped, and he loves building community— both online and at the table. Emerson is determined to help create the cozy, laughter-filled game nights he would have loved as a kid.
Together, they make the perfect balance of chaos and order…all under the watchful (and occasionally loud) supervision of their dachshund Bean, who is absolutely certain he’s the star of the show.
